Technical Seminar and AGM

JAAI organised a seminar on ‘Water System and Sanitation, which was held on February 21, 2015 at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Mr. Shinya Ejima, JICA Chief Representative, was the chief guest at this event.
In his address, he lauded the Indian Prime minister’s ‘Swachh Bharat’ drive. Mr. Y. Yamamoto, Japanese Expert on the subject and Mr. Dinesh Rathi, Expert from Delhi, were the distinguished speakers. The dignitaries on the dais were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers.
Mr. Y. Yamomoto, made the first detailed presentation on the subject of Water system and Sanitation. His took the audience on a journey of how human needs for water were met in Japan fifty years ago, through short video film which the audience enjoyed to the hilt. The second presentation was by Delhi Jal Board expert, Mr. DineshRathi, presently working with a project at Nagpur. In his presentation, the Indian water scenario was shared with the audience, along with a mention of Nagpur’s success story and the Indian government’s future plans. The third and final presentation was by none other than the JAAI President, Mr. Anant Kumar. Colourful slides showing the present day plans in the water and sanitation sectors by Mr. Kumar was well received by the audience.
Coinciding with the Seminar, JAAI held its Annual General Body meeting 2014-15, during the post-lunch session, on the same day. All Elected Body members made presentations on varied subjects, including JAAI activities, registration under Societies Act, active participation by majority of members in all the programmes and a briefing on Annual Convention scheduled on March 14, 2015 at India Habitat Centre. Three JAAI members, namely, Mrs. C. Jayakumari, Mrs. Dimple Arora and Mr. Amandeep Singh were co-opted as Executive Members to strengthen the JAAI Executive Body.
